In his official inauguration in office, Pope Leo XIV said his “first great desire” is for a united Church, “a sign of unity and communion, which becomes a leaven for a reconciled world.”
Addressing the Diplomatic Corps to the Holy See on Friday, Pope Leo XIV warned against viewing “peace” as a “negative” word, which only means an absence of war and conflict.
Pope Leo XIV says the Church needs the Christian East and has a “great need to recover the sense of mystery that remains alive in your … liturgies that engage the human person in his or her entirety.”
For the past five years, Mr. Ayim has volunteered for the African Ministry. He runs a program in a few parishes in Worcester called the “Star Program” that teaches financial literacy and financial education to African teens involved in athletics.
“It’s amazing,” Father Flynn said of the interest in this pilgrimage church. “People are coming during the day, wanting to get the stamp,” a rubber stamp they can apply to their “Jubilee 2025 Pilgrim’s Guide,” like a passport. “If I’m not busy, I’ll come up and talk to them.”
